On April 4th Volks USA opened up pre-orders for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Dollfie Dream Nia and Dollfie Dream Dynamite Yoko. Pre-orders for these two are scheduled to end April 19th on the US site and April 20th on the International site.
I’m personally not interested in Nia. Don’t get me wrong, I liked her character in Gurren Lagann and her Dollfie version doesn’t look bad. But aside from her special head part, she’s just a standard Dollfie to me. At least with Yoko, you also get Volks Dollfie Dream Dynamite body as well. And lets face it, any fan of Yoko knows she has a dynamite body!
Am I right or am I right? ^^;
Those interested in getting Nia, she retails for 60,900 yen via Volks International or $638.oo from Volks USA. Yoko is retailing 69,300 yen via Volks International or $726.00 from Volks USA.
One interesting observation I want to make is that ordering from the International site says delivery will be in July but if you order from USA site delivery won’ be until September. I went ahead ordered from the US site anyway because I won’t mind a few months wait, plus EMS shipping would probably be super expensive considering location and shipping weight.
Anyway, enough of the boring stuff…lets talk about and look at Yoko! The following images were taken from Volks Blog. They released the images gradually to help build the anticipation for these items.
These were some of the initially released shots. The main focus here seemed to be the clothing and body, because they didn’t reveal Yoko’s face!

Of course these were nice, at least gave us something to drool over, but its just not Yoko without the right face. And Volks planned on keeping it secret for as long as they could. Luckily Dancing Queen came across these via Volk’s blog and shared them with the rest of us Yoko fans. Now we get to see if Yoko lives up to our expectations!

In my opinion, Volks got it spot on! She is definitely a good representation of Yoko.
Now many of you may be asking yourself “But why would you spend that kind of cash for a doll?!” And I could give you several responses, but these are my choices:
1) I am a Yoko fanboy.
2) Things like this make me happy (I’ll talk more about this in a later post)
3) I regret that missed my chance to get Dollfie Dream Saber – Not going to miss my chance to secure Yoko!!!! Not to mention there is no word if the Rin Tosaka Dollfie will be sold in the States yet ><
Now I’m not saying that Yoko isn’t pricey. But in my opinion if it makes you happy and can bring you some joy why not, if you can do it. For me, things like this give me a little bit of happiness in life and that’s what is important to me.
Want to thank Volks blog and Dancing Queen again for the updates!
I want one of these myself. It’s just gorgeous!
If the pictures are any indication she will be. Actually hoping she is even more gorgeous in person ^^;
She is gorgeous… makes me wish I had the spare moolah for her…. gawd she’s pretty…
