So for over 3 years ago I have been collecting Dollfie Dreams.  In that time I have been fortunate enough to meet many other owners around the world thanks to power of the internet.  But one thing always wished was to find local owners to meet up with and do stuff with.  Well over year ago I joined a local doll group learned about on Facebook.  I was not able to attend meetings early on, but tried to be active in group sharing stuff via the group’s FB page.  Well this last July I was finally able to attend my first meetup!  Have to say its pretty cool to meet other doll owners and see all the different kinds of dolls out there.

Post meetup photo of Alter in her outfit.  Wanted to make a “dark” version of Saber’s casual outfit.  Just needed a black ribbon tie and some black boots.

If follow me on Twitter, may have noticed yesterday while having conversation with fellow Dollfie Dream enthusiast I made a joke about Aoko Aozaki or Alice Kuonji from TYPE-MOON’s Mahōtsukai no Yoru being in pipeline for DD release.

Well it looks like I wasn’t far off with that joke as this leaked scan reveals.  Thought I would make it out of 2012 without buying another Dollfie Dream, but instead it looks like time for me to get to work =D

Seems like every year more and more lovely Saber related merchandise is released. In fact it is an exciting time to be a TYPE-MOON fan.  Frequent visitors of this site (or if you follow me on social media sites) know all too well I’m a Saber fanboy. Saber makes up good part of my figure collection even after I passed on quite a few nice Saber figures in the past (Good Smile Company’s figures of original Saber, Saber Alter, and the Saber Motored Cuirassier I particularly regret passing on).

Today will will take a brief look at the Casual version Saber Nendoroid, which was included with Hobby Japan’s Nendoroid Complete File book.  Nero will be assisting. So please enjoy the photos.

Always liked Saber’s casual look.  Simple but somewhat refined too.  First face we have the cute smile, something don’t see often from Saber.

Casual Saber also comes with extra leg parts to recreate her sitting pose. Saber prefers to sit when she is eating.  Wish she came with an eyes closed face part to go with it.  Then she could be sleeping / mediating  XD

But good thing about Nendoroids is can switch face parts with other Nendos.  So just need to find such a face from another Nendo ^^

Last September mentioned Volks was releasing two special DD for the Type-Moon 10th Anniversary.  Saber Extra and Saber Alter V2.  After a long wait one of the lovely Sabers has arrived.  So allow to introduce you to the latest addition to my little DD troupe – Saber Extra, the stage awaits!!

I had given up on idea of getting the “original” Saber mold but “summoning” Lily negated any ill feelings I had on not being able to obtain my unicorn.

The Type-Moon x Dollfie Dream project announcement was a curve ball for me, as I didn’t expect to see a re-release of original the Saber mold.  Plus this release was so close after the release of Saber Lily.  What was even more surprising was fact that including Saber Alter AND making it preorder item instead of lotto item.  This means that every order for them would be fulfilled.  Needless to say the response was overwhelming for the two Sabers.

All things considered, this was a blessing to me.  This release meant I would finally have a chance to obtain the Saber mold that got me into the Dollfie Dream hobby!!  As an added bonus I would also have a chance to get Saber Alter too!! ^o^

Plus after hours of playing Fate / Extra I grew fond of the spunky Servant.  She has a lot of fire!

Saber’s default uniform / dress is simply amazing.  But I would recommend you pay close attention to the instructions on how to assemble her.  Pay special attention to the part that talks about how to attach her corset to the dress.  Volks gives you two options on how to do this.  I would go with the option where you take off her bust part.  I tried it the other way and ended up pulling out the flimsy stitch Volks used attaching the fastener.  Looked like it was two stitches holding it in place.  I say it was poor because compared to other stitching inside the corset, this was was not reinforced at all and thread was different.  Luckily I was able to repair it using my limited sewing ability and reinforced it just in case.  But I would suggest going with the bust removal option to be safe.

Now then, I shall ask you once more.

Answer me.  Are you my Master?

Saber is absolutely wonderful.  I mean she is simply stunning.  I am so pleased to finally have her ToT  Sabers are certainly “the most outstanding” for a reason.  I give her high marks all around.

I see you have knowledge of what a Servant is.  More importantly, you recognize you summoned a superior Servant.

As the Saber class is best of the Servant classes, it is obvious I am a Saber.

Saber’s sword is amazing!!  The level of detail her Aestus Estus  possesses makes it work of art.  Certainly has some weight to it, amazed she was able to wield with little problem.

My blade is the ultimate instrument!  Even the Muses themselves bow before the sound that it makes.

On another note – I know it has been a few months since my last blog update.  Another long hiatus on my part.  Many apologies.  Three months without anything new posted.  Part of that was had to put some major time in at work which left little time for taking photos or other things.  Of course not to say haven’t been “active” online though.  If you follow my Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, Facebook, or Google+ know I have been anything but quiet ^^;  But now that things quieted down some at work I can start to get back into things and get back to doing the things I love.

It’s a trivial matter.  As long as you have me, we’ll keep going!

Omake Time

Decided to do something different with Nero. I switched her to the DDS body with L bust from the DD3 body. I opted for Nero with DDS body because she is suppose to be of short stature in the Fate / Extra game. Just a small change and one that can’t really notice with her in her lovely default dress. Once Volks releases L bust option part for DDS, I’ll invest in one to see just how much of a difference DDS L bust and DD3 L bust. But until then L bust from the DD3 works well.

Saber Lily has the DD3 body now.  Notice that Nero is able to stand close to same height as Lily.  The armored boots give Nero some extra height.  This also explains why her lovely red dress doesn’t appear shorter.  If she wasn’t wearing those boots though it would be a different story.  And if I put Lily’s armored boots on the height difference would be noticeable too.

Tekkaman Blade is one of those shows my youth that got me into anime.  My first exposure to the series was the poor dub called “Teknoman” here in the US.  Of course it wasn’t until a few years later that I was exposed to the unedited, original Japanese version.  And I have to say it only made me love the series more.  Excellent story, fantastic characters (and development in my book) , and stellar soundtrack made Tekkaman Blade one my favorite anime series of all time.

Takaya vs Shinya

So when I saw the Wonder Festival pics of the Tekkaman Blade and Evil figmas I immediately knew I had to get my hands on them!  Eagerly awaited news of their release and Good Smile Company came through posting information about Blade on their website.  If you follow me on Twitter then you probably saw my excitement at the news ^^;

Signature Tekkaman Blade stance.  Looks like he won’t have any problems standing without stand either.  Figure has excellent details.  Very nice.

But the stand will come in handy for poses like this.  After all, with those thrusters on this back he is capable of combat while in flight.  Also nice to see that his lance can split into two like in the series.

Blade’s lance is his signature weapon.  But he does possess an even more powerful weapon…

The Voltekka!!  The fact that you can even recreate Blade firing his most powerful weapon is icing on the cake for this figure!

Hopefully Blade and Evil sell well enough that their Blastor Forms are also made.  And of course wouldn’t mind some of the other Tekkamen made, including the Sol-Tekkaman armor.

Recently learned that MOO had a new card product – Facebook Cards.  They advertise the product as a way to take your Facebook Timeline offline.  Having previous experience with MOO, I decided to check out this new product for myself.  Of course, getting 50 free cards (do have to pay shipping) helped in the decision too!

The cards feature the Cover Images from your Facebook profile / timeline.  It also pulls your profile photo and information to populate fields on card.  But you can edit the information to suit your taste. For instance, I didn’t want my phone number on these cards so I changed it to my Twitter address.

On the back of the card it will pull a quote from your profile.  My Facebook profile contains many quotes, but the first one is the opening lyrics of “Through the Night” from the anime Outlaw Star.  I really like those lyrics.

Overall really like these cards.  Quality is good and the cards have a clean look.  Simple, elegant design that does exactly what MOO says: “Help show off your personality in the real world.”  I certainly recommend picking yourself up a 50 card pack while the promo is going.  It will set you back the shipping cost, but you will gain a nice networking tool.

The lovely Beatrice is going to model for you today one of the dresses that arrived today via Volks USA.  The dress she is modeling is the Champagne Ribbon Dress that was recently released as part of their November Collection.  A very elegant dress for a very elegant lady.

This outfit consists of a dress, short jacket, ribbon belt, and arm covers.

Said it once before, but think it bares repeating.  Beato’s best feature has to be her eyes.  They are so vibrant and full of life.  Certainly nothing dull and lazy about them.

This dress is designed for both M and L bust girls.  I think Beato looks fantastic in this dress.  Again think its because she does have an elegant look…and of course the shapely bust help too XD

Expect to see more photos of Beato and this lovely dress in the future.

Last October a new girl joined the troupe.  It was also a bit of a unplanned addition, but the circumstances of recruiting her were unexpected and surprisingly favorable for me.  Alias it has been very hectic for me since September, and I just did not have the time to prepare a proper “entrance” for her.  But I couldn’t just be silent about her arrival either.  So I decided to do some teasers like the one above.  For this pic I decided to use the “twin” to Yoko’s multi-color wig.  This was two-fold ~ concealment of her identity and I didn’t feel her default was good for her “primary” style.

Second of the teaser image I shared.  I used this shade of blue in these teaser pics as a play on the Blue Truth from the Umineko games.  It was a way to hint at her true identity without giving to much away.  Plus it seemed to work well with lighting of this photo and enhanced the contrast bit more.  Beatrice has a distinctive profile so I tried to conceal her face as best I could ^^;

When Beatrice was first introduced I wasn’t able to pursue recruiting her.  But a second chance presented itself in October when Beatrice showed up on eBay for a price that was very close to her original price.  In fact, the price was unusual considering Beatrice was a limited release.  I wasn’t sure that I would be able to get her considering the buzz her auction was generating around the DD community.  I figured that even with low starting price, competing bids would quickly raise the price up.  Surprisingly there was not a lot of competition and I was able to secure her for a very favorable price.

Beatrice is the first DD I bought after market and I got a super deal because I secured her for close to her retail price, which in terms of aftermarket pricing is rare for a limited DD like Beatrice.

So after all of these months waiting, things finally calmed down enough to finally introduce Beatrice.  Originally I was going to call this post “Enter ~ Golden Dawn” but figured time for codename was done.

There are two things I really like about Beatrice.  First being her eyes.  I find them absolutely mesmerizing and such a lovely shade of blue.  Second is she has a mature, sultry look.

I happened to come across someone selling Beatrice’s school uniform on Deviant Art shortly after getting her.  I really liked the aesthetic of this uniform and seemed more practical than her long default dress.  Plus the price was very close to what it was originally sold for via Volks which was excellent.  When I recruit a DD, I also like to try and secure any alternative outfits that happen to go with them.  So I was thrilled was able to obtain Beatrice’s “Complete Form” by getting this outfit as well.

Aside from being extremely hectic, another reason I delayed revealing Beatrice was because I wanted to find a longer wig that was close to her default color.  Thankfully my comrade Motoko Yamamoto had this wig she was selling and have to say its a perfect fit for Beatrice.  Her default wig is very nice, but to me it is also a very “formal” style and after seeing owner photos I loved Beatrice with her hair down.

Another selling point of this uniform is Beatrice’s Zettai Ryouiki ^o^  Also liked the striped stockings.

Beatrice hair isn’t the only thing that is long, she has has some knee high boots.

Beatrice was also the first DD to come with the Shapely Large Bust.  Have to say it adds to her sultry, sexy look.

Volks recently added the Shapely L bust to their option parts, so if you like then please pick up one for your girl.

The plaid top if not part of the uniform but part of another outfit.  Would have preferred a solid black, think that would have complimented Beatrice more.  But still a nice set and works well with her bust.  May have to look into getting some nice lingerie for the girls in the future ^^;

Sexy picture time!  Bottom is part of the same outfit as the top.  The pipe came with Beatrice.  She enjoys an occasional smoke.

She’s absolutely gorgeous!! ^o^  Her eyes are just captivating to me.
