As I mentioned earlier, I finally got Fate/Extra Type-Moon Box recently in the mail.  Which means that once another limited edition Saber has joined my Saber collection.  This figma was the key selling point of this box, considering I am a Saber fan(boy) ^^;;

Trying to replicate the cover of the Visual Art book that came with the package.  Sexy back shot with this figma is a must…so expect to see a few in this post.

Don’t adjust your monitors.  I intentionally set the color temperature of these photos to give them a warm feeling.  The reason will be revealed…read on.

And as you enjoy these pictures, lets take note on a few things.

As you can tell from her sword, this incarnation of Saber is different from the one that has appeared in the Fate / franchise thus far. This is not Excalibur she is wielding.

Instead, Fate/Extra has casted an entirely new heroic spirit for the role of Saber. So if this Saber is not Arthuria Pendragon, who is she??

One thing is for certain, she has an affinity to fire. Considering “Arthuria” Saber has a Noble Phantasm called “Invisible Air – Barrier of the Wind King” think its safe to assume that Saber has an affinity to wind.

Plus the design of this sword resembles a flame, does it not? In fact the name of the sword is Aestus Estus, Latin for “heat”

This Saber also has a Noble Phantasm known as Aestus Domus Aurea, a Reality Marble that materializes a field known as the “Golden Theater”

It is for this reason I set the color temperature to a higher setting.  I wanted to give the photos a warm feeling to them

Aeriel shot.  Think Saber Extra has a little bit “extra” to her compared to Arthuria ^^

Considering the clues thus far, do you have any guesses yet on this Saber’s identity??  I originally thought she was Arthuria’s clone, Mordred.  But that is not the case.  As I said, this Saber has no relation of Arthuria other than both are same class of Servant.

No??  Answer will be revealed soon ^^

Here is one final clue.  She hails from Rome…

Okay.  Time for the reveal!!  So who is she??

Saber’s true identity in Fate/Extra is…

Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus That’s right, another genderswap for Saber =D

Lot of subtle hints, but her Noble Phantasm Aestus Domus Aurea should have been a dead give away, as its based on the Domus Aurea, whose creation is credited to Nero following the Great Fire of Rome.

Also seems to be a bit of debate around some message boards that feel that Nero was not deserving of the role as Saber or any servant for that manner, as his wasn’t exactly a hero in the true sense of the word. But in the Fate universe:

Heroic Spirits (英霊 eirei?) are beings that accomplished great achievements such as saving the world and, after their death, became the object of worship and lore.

So by this definition Nero would qualify as an heroic spirit.  And to be honest, this variation of Saber is interesting to me. Whereas Arthuria Saber is a bit more stoic and reserved, Nero Saber gives me the vibe of being a bit more in touch with her emotions and desires.

Also really like this figma.  She is quite posable even with the fixed skirt.  Macro lens picked up a few things that are pretty invisible to the naked eye, but not distracting enough to take away from the figure in my opinion.  Definitely would recommend if you are a Saber or Figma fan.  Again, links in my Fate/Extra post on where you can still get hold of the Type Moon Box version if you wish.

Omake Time!!

Saber Extra wasn’t alone.  Saber Alter and Rider also arrived at base shortly before Saber Extra.  I think they were summoned to herald the arrival of their Master this month

Saber Alter is lazy and decided to reserved her energy until her Master arrived.  But Rider being a faithful Servant decided to scout the area.

Saber Rider??  Or is that Rider Lily??  Or maybe both??  ^^

Saber Lily and Saber Lion enjoy some playtime in the snow.  Didn’t stay out for too long though…as it was quite cold out =P

Saber Snow Lily seemed to enjoy it.

On the heels of Saber Lily, another great Saber figure is up for pre-order from Good Smile Company.  This time its the “original” Saber wielding her Excalibur.  Love the dynamic pose and Saber’s fierce expression!  This version of Saber even has the “Invisible Air” version of Excalibur used by Saber to conceal her true identity.

Even this expression is lovely when it comes to Saber ^^  Lovely details on Excalibur and her armor as well.

Looks like she also have a diorama type base like Saber Lily.  Some people didn’t like the emblem on the Saber Lily base, so that may be an issue for some on this figure as well.  Personally, the emblem doesn’t concern me.  This Saber is definitely on my radar, though I am not able to pre-order her at this time.

Moeyo.com recently posted some teaser pics of the next batch of upcoming Ichiban Kuji figures for Code Geass.  This is the same line that released the C.C. I acquired last year.

Another lovely C.C. figure.  Believe these figures are referred to as “Romantic Variations” because of the way they are dressed.

Kallen!  Hmm…looks gorgeous in this dress.  Love her facial express and hair on this figure too.  Love to add her to my collection.  This look reminds me of when she was held captive by Britiania during R2.

Otacute has them for pre-order here.  Certainly a must have for any Code Geass fan in my book.  Definitely on my wishlist.

One of the things I have been doing is cleaning out my old camera download folders.  As the name implies, its where all my photos go whenever I hook my cameras up to my computer.  I take a lot of photos, experimenting with different stuff.  But number of good photos were quite low, at least photos I thought were good.  So while going through these photos, I found some pics of figures I took which I forgot about.  The Holstein Hanako photos I posted were part of those, as well as these few shots I took of Banpresto’s Ichiban Kuji series C.C.

Of the Code Geass girls, C.C. would be my number one pick.  I just like her personality, which I am sure comes from living for centuries.  The face on this figure is pretty cute and I like her sexy pose.

Another thing fans of Code Geass will know is that C.C. loves to eat pizza.  Certainly couldn’t tell from the look of her body ^^

Where does all that pizza go??

The characters in Code Geass were designed by CLAMP.  Being a CLAMP fan, it helped sell me on the series.  Their style is pretty distinctive.  The characters has long torsos and limbs.  Both of those features are captured in this figure as well.  C.C. has some pretty long legs.

Another photo from the pile was this single shot of Buster Machine No 7 from Aim for the Top 2 (Diebuster).  I got this figure because I loved her pose and because she had sweet scarf action.  I call scarfs “future capes” because it seems to be a signature costume element for heroes in futuristic series like Diebuster.  Plus I think they look awesome when they are flowing dramatically in the wind.

I still have a Saber Lily review to do.  I have been waiting because of the large number of reviews out because of her release.  Plus I have a Nendoroid Saber Lily that should arrive soon; so I’m thinking of a shoot with my three Saber Lily figures together.  Which is another reason I’m waiting on the review.

I think my next review may feature a figure I have had for a while and one I recently got.  Hint:  Both come from the same series and you can find them here.  All I am going to reveal for now >=3

Back in March I posted a couple of preview pics of a shoot I was doing with this figure.  I did do the shoot like I said…but never got around to posting the pics.  Well, today I was going through my camera download folders and came across them.  Figured better late than never ^^;;;

This cutie is called Holstein Hanako (holstein being a breed of dairy cow known for its unique black and white markings).  She was released January 2009 by Daiki Kougyo.  I really like this version of her, which was produced by Tohshiro.

One of my original reasons for getting this figure was that 2009 is “Year of the Ox” based on the Chinese Zodiac, and because she’s a “cowgirl” she plays on that theme a bit.

My other reason for getting her was she is pretty cute…  ^^;

… and she nice eyes ^^;;;;

I like the look of this figure.  Her pose, facial expression, and outfit all appealed to me.  Her shita pai are also nice from this angle ^o^

Our little cowgirl seemed to have attracted two new friends.  Why they are wearing bandannas is anyone’s guess ^^

They move pretty fast for cows, considering they vanished as quickly as they appeared.

She looks nice from the side too.

Her two little friends may have left her, but least she still has her butterfly.

This figure has one other little thing about it that I like.  I’ll warn you though, what is about to follow will be ecchi and not safe for work (NSFW).  If such things offend you or you are viewing this in public place, then now is a good time to stop reading.

Cast off figures are pretty popular.  I don’t buy a figure based on whether it has cast-off parts or not.  I look to see if its a cute figure or has a dynamic pose.  The cast-off feature is just a nice extra for me.  That being said, I do have a number of cast-off figures in my collection.

A lot of my figures I keep boxed up because I have limited space to display them.  Unless its one I really like, chances are it goes back in the box once I shoot it…or done playing with it ^^;

But if I had the space to display all of them, chances are I would not display figures like Hanako in their cast-off form.  It would be too distracting.

Did I mention I could go for a tall glass of milk??

Figure I would throw in a yoko pai shot.  After a couple of full frontal exposures, hopefully this side angle may give your eyes time to rest.

Holstein Hanako is certainly a cutie pie.  The original artist is Tsukaka Bullet, but his style is very similar to Shunya Yamashita.  In fact, she certainly has a Shunya feel to her.   Megahouse also released a Holstein Hanako, but I prefer the Daiki version myself.  The Megahouse version just did not appeal to me…sorry v.v;;  I think it was her facial expression ^^;;

Because this release was from early part of the year, she pretty much sold out at most retailers.  If the Megahouse version appeals to your taste, accepting pre-orders at Play-Asia.  I think she is cast-off as well if that influences your decision =D

I have been meaning to do a Nanoha related post for a while.  In fact, I still have a draft of a post I was going to make about the Nanoha swimsuit figure released by GoodSmile Company saved.  Maybe I’ll finally finish that one day, but today I would like to talk about two other figures.  As many Nanoha fans know, Alter has been releasing StrikerS figures pretty regularly now.  Well it looks like the new one up is the leading female herself Nanoha Takamachi in her Exceed Mode!

Scheduled for release this month, this figure features Nanoha wielding her device Raising Heart in its Excelion Mode along with four Blaster Bits (no doubt using Blaster 3) poised for firing either her Excelion Buster or Starlight Breaker EX attack.  Certainly a lovely figure from these pre-release shots, but obviously going to need to make room on the shelf / in the display case for her.

Needless to say, its not a good idea to get on Nanoha’s bad side.  Even a sweet girl has her limits =D.  This figure is on my wishlist, but I won’t be preordering it this time around; so hopefully I can catch it on a release.  But if you’re interested, there is still time to pre-order her.  Just head over to Hobby Search or your favorite figure retailer and reserve her.

But Alter isn’t stopping there with our girl Nanoha.  To help kick off the release of the first Nanoha movie, next January will see the release of Nanoha Takamachi – Stand By Ready.  This time we step back to where it all started, when Nanoha was just a magical girl!  Once again you may want to clear some room on the shelf / display case because this girl will need some room.  And once again, Nanoha is taking flight; which makes me curious how Alter will be making the display stands for these two figures.

This figure is so kawaii that its certainly on my list.  Certainly have time until its released, so I’m sure a pre-order will happen ^^.  If you like your Nanoha’s in loli form, then again you can head over to Hobby Search or your favorite figure retailer and give them a couple of jars of honey to pre-order one for you.  Just leave your pedobear outfit at home ^^

I just find it that both versions of Nanoha will be release so close to one another.  Loli Nanoha is nice, but I like adult Nanoha because of her curves ^^;  If you’re a fan of the Nanoha franchise than I would recommend getting one or both of these lovely figures.  Considering I think Alter does a fantastic job on figures and past experience with the other StrikerS girls; I believe that fans won’t be disappointed in either version!

This weekend I finally received my long awaited Saber Lily by Good Smile Company.  I previously mentioned this figure back in March, so its been quite a wait.  But well worth it now that I have seen the figure with my own eyes.  This is just a preview, I plan on shooting a lot more photos of this this weekend.

On a side note, also received an email that the Saber Lily Nendoroid at Hobby Search.  So I should have that in hand soon.  I highly suggest you order it before its sold out either at Hobby Search or your favorite figure retailer.  Once it arrives, my Saber Lily trilogy will be complete.  I’ll have the Nendoroid, GSC Distant Utopia, and Saber Lily figma.  I love Saber ^o^ (just need a Saber Lily dollfie now ^^;)

It looks like the next Hyakka Ryouran figure is now up for pre-order, meet  Hattori Hanzo.  She will be joining Yagyu Jubei in what I initially thought was going to be a 3 figure set.  But various blogs seem to report different things, so not really sure.  There are certainly plenty of attractive characters to choose from in the series and would look gorgeous in 3D.  Certainly wouldn’t complain if they release more than 3 ^^;

Think I am going to get Hanzo too.  Love the bladed maid dress, certainly unique.  Dynamic pose, and complete with clearly visible pantsu angle sure to make many otaku happy.
